A R Rahman became the first Indian to win the Golden Globe award for the Best Original Score in his movie Slumdog Millionaire. No Indian has ever got any award at the prestigious Golden Globe awards prior to Rahmanji. He is regarded as the best music composer in India and now he has also proved his talent to the whole world. Shahrukh Khan also created history at the award function by becoming the first Indian to present an award at the Golden Globe awards. Great going Bollywood and great going India!

We Indians hardly seem to sing our National Anthem. I can say for sure that many Indians might have forgot some lines of the our National Anthem. But it is really unbelievable that these people from Kenya are singing the Indian National Anthem without any mistake. In fact it sounds so sweet as they have their regional language touch while pronouncing the words Jana Gana Mana.

I had recently watched the Hollywood movie Slumdog Millionaire which is already sweeping all international movie awards. The movie shows the pathetic conditions of the people residing in the slums of Mumbai and how they are reeling under poverty. The movie has undoubtedly touched my heart although it is a Hollywood movie. And this picture reminded me of the movie but it also shows how the poor people residing in the Mumbai slums try to find light in their lives. This photo is taken during diwali where the slum dwellers light up diyas making the slum look very beautiful.

The beauty of the culture of different parts of India is indeed incredible

Before I start posting in my blog, I thought it would be better to remind everybody about the driving force behind Indian democracy. The Indian constitution is at the core of the Indian democracy and the preamble is at the core of the Indian constitution. So, I have posed the preamble below so that you all can remember the basics of our great Indian nation. The preamble states:

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:

JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;

IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
